Unsinkable tank

Alexander, an experienced fuel truck driver, was a master of his craft. He knew every road, every gas station, and could even tell by eye how much fuel a tank could hold. His reputation among his colleagues and superiors was impeccable. But few knew that behind this perfect picture lurked a cunning scheme that allowed Alexander to enrich himself at the expense of the company.

Every morning, Alexander left the base with a full tank of fuel, distributing fuel and lubricants to the company’s facilities. Everything looked as usual: he filled out route sheets, recorded the amount of fuel issued, and returned to the base. But behind all this routine, there was a scam.

Before refueling, Alexander made a small but important stop. At one of the stops, he “dumped” some of the fuel into pre-prepared canisters, which he later sold to private clients. To hide the shortage, he skillfully falsified reports, adding fictitious refuelings at sites that no one could verify.

Exposure

For a long time, the management did not suspect what was happening. But at some point, the indicators began to raise questions. Fuel consumption increased, but the volume of work at the facilities remained the same. Then it was decided to conduct a detailed analysis of the data using the Waliot monitoring system.

The system showed that on one of the routes, Alexander regularly made a stop at the same place, where his car stood for about 20 minutes. This was strange, since there were no gas stations or company facilities in this area. In addition, the data from the fuel level sensors (FLS) showed a sharp “overflow”, which did not match the route sheet.

When Alexander was called in for a conversation and shown the data, he tried to justify himself, but the system left him no chance. The movement logs, the fuel level recording, the time of stops – everything pointed to his machinations.

The final

As a result, Alexander was fired, and the company tightened control over the movement of fuel. Now all refuelings are recorded in real time, and data from the monitoring system helps to exclude any attempts at fraud.

A lesson for everyone

The Waliot system has become not only a control tool for the company, but also a guarantor of honesty. It shows that even the most cunning schemes cannot hide from technology. Now the company is confident that every liter of fuel is used for its intended purpose.
